A registered retirement savings
plan (RRSP) is essentially a trust set up and registered with the
Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), in accordance with the Income Tax Act,
to hold certain investment assets intended for retirement.
An RRSP is not a type of investment, but rather an investment vehicle,
specifically a trust, that holds eligible investments.
Contributions are deductible from current income (within limits),
and payments out of the plan are taxed upon distribution, thus differing
taxes until retirement.
We believe RRSPs are a valid retirement planning tool. As independent
financial advisors, we have access, through IPG,
to a vast array of financial products that are eligible to be held
within your RRSP.
We are also in a position to orient your RRSP towards achieving
your retirement objectives.
